ON THE TORSIONAL IMPULSIVE LOADING OF AN ELASTIC HALF SPACE

The axisymmetric torsional impulsive loading of an elastic half space is considered. A general solution is obtained using integral transforms and three particular types of surface loading are considered in detail. The displacement is determined at all points of the body, and numerical results for the surface displacement are presented in graphical form.
