DIFFRACTION IN AN ANISOTROPIC MEDIUM
W. E. WILLIAMS
(
Applied Mathematics Department, Liverpool University
)
A solution is obtained or the problem of the diffraction of an electromagnetic plane wave by two parallel semi-infinite conducting plates in an anisotropic medium. The solution is expressed in terms of the solution of the corresponding diffraction problem in an isotropic medium and it is shown that surface waves will be excited on the surfaces of the plates.
