ON THE DISPLACEMENT BOUNDARY-VALUE PROBLEM IN LINEAR ELASTOSTATICS

The displacement boundary-value problem is discussed for classical linear elastostatics. A sufficient condition for uniqueness of solution is obtained. This condition is weaker than the strong-ellipticity condition.
