TREATMENT OF SINGULARITIES IN A HARMONIC MIXED BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEM BY DUAL SERIES METHODS

J. R. WHITEMAN {dagger}

( Department of Mathematics, Royal Military College of Science Shrivenham )

An accurate approximation to the solution of a harmonic mixed boundary value problem in which the region of definition is a rectangle containing a slit is derived using a dual series method. An error bound is given, and the results obtained are compared with those given by Motz and Woods for similar problems.
