STRESSES IN A SEMI-INFINITE STRIP

The problem of the elastic semi-infinite strip in generalized plane stress is considered. A direct complex variable approach is used, utilising a mean squares approximation on the short edge. The method is illustrated with examples and its generalization to other classes of problems is mentioned.
