A NOTE ON THE NONLINEAR STABILITY OF JEFFERY-HAMEL FLOWS
S. CARMI

Principal eigenvalues
are calculated for a family of Jeffery-Hamel flows in diverging channels. It is found that the minimizing solutions are transverse to the main flow direction. Our nonlinear stability limits are then compared with the linear results and with the existing experimental data.
