A NOTE ON PLANE WAVES IN LINEAR CONSERVATIVE SYSTEMS

New proofs are given for two results concerning the energy-flux vector for small-amplitude waves propagating in linear conservative anisotropic systems. The setting for the proofs is the linear theory of homogeneous anisotropic elastic materials. From the method of proof, it is seen that the results are valid for any linear conservative system in which small-amplitude waves may propagate.
