ON COUPLED VAN DER POL EQUATIONS

ENOK PALM and MORTEN TVEITEREID

( Institute of Mathematics, University of Oslo Oslo 3, Norway )

The paper is concerned with coupled Van der Pol equations. The case of two coupled equations is discussed in detail. The case of N coupled equations is discussed for some special values of the parameters. It is shown that in a certain parameter domain the solution will for large values of time approach a limit cycle for all initial conditions. The case of N coupled equations is also briefly discussed in the Appendix.
