NOTE ON THE LIFTING-SURFACE PROBLEM FOR A CIRCULAR WING IN INCOMPRESSIBLE FLOW

It is shown that the solution by Hauptman and Miloh is not the exact solution of the linearized lifting-surface problem for a thin circular wing in steady incompressible potential flow. Their solution satisfies the boundary condition of prescribed downwash on the wing only in an average sense.
