A solution of a basic Boussinesq problem relating to a hexagonally aeolotropic elastic half-space is derived by the use of two-dimensional Fourier transforms. An integral relation connecting the normal pressure on the bounding plane with the normal component of the displacement on that plane-analogous to Boussinesq's relation in the isotropic case-is derived.
