PHYSICAL OPTICS AND THE SURFACE RADIATION CONDITION

By reinterpreting a result due to Ursell (Proc. Camb. phil. Soc. 53 (1957) 115) for convex objects a foundation is provided for high-frequency approximations such as physical optics and surface radiation conditions.
