A nonlinear ring singularity for the motion of a viscous incompressible liquid
( 1 Department of Mathematics, University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, M5S 3G3, Canada )
A method of construction is given for new NavierStokes solutions. The approach is based on the determination of complex velocity fields satisfying the corresponding complex equations of motion. In particular it is shown how the Landau round jet solution can be generalized to a ring singularity producing a constant force in the liquid.
