A NOTE ON A PAPER BY DAVIES AND WALTERS ON THE EFFECT OF FINITE WIDTH OF AREA ON THE RATE OF EVAPORATION INTO A TURBULENT ATMOSPHERE
( Institute for Fluid Dynamics and Applied Mathematics, University of Maryland )
The solution given by Davies and Walters for the concentration of water vapour at any point in a turbulent atmosphere above an infinite rectangular saturated area may be transformed into a form which is more suitable for computational purposes. The integral expression for the solution given by the authors is replaced by a rapidly converging hypergeometric series.
