A FURTHER NOTE ON DUAL INTEGRAL EQUATIONS AND AN APPLICATION TO THE DIFFRACTION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES

C. J. TRANTER

( Royal Military College of Science Shrivenham )

A previous solution of the dual integral equations Formula

where G(u), g(p) are given functions of the variables indicated and f(u) is to be found, is extended to cover cases in which the order v of the Bessel function kernel is not zero.

As an example, the solution is applied to a problem in the diffraction of electromagnetic waves by a plane slit and some criticisms are made of a recent discussion of this problem.
