HYDRODYNAMICAL EQUATIONS FOR THE MOTION OF BODIES OF REVOLUTION IN NON-VISCOUS ROTATING LIQUID

S. D. NIGAM and P. P. CHATTERJI

( Department of Applied Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India )

The non-linear hydrodynamical equations for the steady axisymrnetrio flow of perfect fluid have been reduced to one linear differential equation for Stokes's stream function. It is shown that uniform motion of bodies of revolution along the axis of the rotating liquid can be discussed on the basis of this equation.
