PROPAGATION IN A GYRATIONAL MEDIUM

LL. G. CHAMBERS

( (University College of North Wales) )

The electromagnetic properties of media such that D = {varepsilon}E+{xi}H, B = {zeta}E+µH are discussed. It is shown that each field component obeys the equation

Formula

and that such media are accordingly doubly refracting. Integral forms for Maxwell's equations are also discussed.
