ON THE FLEXURE PROBLEM PARTI

E. DEUTSCH

( Professional School Element Gottwald Bucharest )

A formal solution is given to the problem of flexure in the case when the mapping-function which maps conformally the cross-section of the beam on a unit circle is known as a power series.

The method is illustrated by applying it to the flexure problem of a prismatic beam whose cross-section is: (a) a regular m-sided curvilinear polygon; (b) an elliptic limaçon.
